1935-2022
John Frederick McBay – 86, of Grand
Pré, Kings County, passed away Tuesday, March 22, 2022 in
the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born October 5, 1935 in
Wolfville, he was a son of the late William and Alice (Rose) McBay. He
worked at Bob MacDonald Chev Olds in Halifax and later employed with
Rafuse Building Supplies in Wolfville, N.S. until his retirement. He
was a member of St. Andrews United Church in Wolfville. He is survived
by his wife of 66 years, Patricia (Grimm); daughters, Rosalie (Fred)
Rogers, Port Williams; Dianna (Michael) Baltzer, Prospect, Halifax
County; Heather (David) McBay-Giles, Hammonds Plains; Catherine (Eric)
McBay-Fredericks, Kentville; sisters, Marion Davison, Windsor; Shirley
(Phil) Harris, Hantsport; brother, Donald McBay, New Minas; a
sister-in-law, Karlene McBay-Stocker, Ontario; several nieces and
nephews. He was predeceased by brothers, Ronald, George and Bill;
sisters-in-law, Eleanore McBay and Patty McBay; a brother-in-law, Jim
Davison. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation, by
request. A private burial will take place at a later date in the Lower
Horton Cemetery, Grand Pré, N.S. Donations in memory may be
made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the charity of your choice.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and
Cremation Services, Kentville.
