Obituary
Passed away, unexpectedly at home on Thursday, January 20, 2022. John Evan Griffiths of Erinsville at age 70. Beloved husband of Penny Griffiths (nee Robinson). Dear father of Elizabeth Griffiths (Rick Tjoris) and Evan Griffiths. Grandfather of Peyton Gosling (Devin Brilhante) and great-grandfather of Ben. Brother of Bill Griffiths and brother-in-law of Bonnie Fortin (Alan Glover), Nancy Juby (Paul) and Elizabeth Byford (Tom). Also survived by several wonderful nieces and nephews. Originally from the Eastern Townships in Quebec, John and Penny lived for nearly three decades in Airdrie, Alberta. He retired as a Senior Account Manager with CIBC in Calgary. In 2002, John and Penny moved to Erinsville to enjoy retirement in a rural setting. He loved watching hockey (especially the Airdrie Thunder), camping in the mountains, and being with friends and family. A private family gathering to celebrate John’s life will be held in the spring.
