John “David” Bonany
1939-2022
John David Bonany
May 28, 1938 – June 11, 2022
It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of Dave
Bonany in his 84th year. Dear father of Stephen (Alison),
his predeceased son Christopher in 1982, and David (Julie).
Affectionately known as “Grandpa Fred” to 7 grandchildren
and “Great Grandpa Fred” to 4 great grandchildren. Loved
immensely by his sister Myrna Coles and her 7 children and their
families. He will also be dearly missed by his best and longtime
friends, Greg and Mary Elliott.
Dave was an avid photographer starting out with the Guelph
Mercury in the 60’s culminating his career with
Black’s Photography as R&D and Systems Manager as a
Certified Photo Finishing Engineer in 2002. He retired to
Cambridge where he immersed himself in his love of golf and passion
for woodworking.
Dave lost his father, P/O Albert Louis Bonany RCAF, overseas
in 1944 as he fought for our country’s freedom. In lieu of
flowers, please consider a donation to vetscanada.org
