It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of John Verhoeven on Wednesday August 10, 2022 at the age of 84 with family by his side. Cherished father of Helen (Tim Parsons), Patricia (Garry Poirier), Lisa and the late Brenda (Tom Scrivens). Loving Opa of Sean, Liam, Joshua, Cole and Gyasi. Survived by 5 brothers and 1 sister and their families. Predeceased by 3 brothers. Remembered by the mother of his daughters, Wilhelmina Bosch. Born in Dalfsen, The Netherlands, John immigrated to Canada in 1958 with dreams of becoming a cowboy. John and Willy moved several times within their marriage eventually settling in Marvelville, Ontario. With his fondness of people, animals and travel he enjoyed his profession as an industrial plumber working for Surge pipelines as well as Boumatic systems. He later owned his own business in water treatment. John also had a passion for music, having played guitar and sax in his earlier years being part of a popular local band he shared with his daughter Helen. We will dearly miss you Pap/Opa. Thank you to the staff at Le Pavillon Retirement Home in Embrun for their compassionate care. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to the Heart and Stroke Society of Canada.
