Obituary
Ann Leenders passed away the day before her 88th birthday due to complications of an aggressive cancer and underlying lung condition while surrounded by her three loving children. She is survived by her husband Andrew; children Diana Ersser (Tony), Debbie Ramsay (Allan) and Ron Leenders (Pam); nine grandchildren: Jason, Stephanie, Kristen and Justin Ersser; Spencer, Stewart and Andrew Leenders; Thomas and Scott Ramsay; eight great-grandchildren; siblings Joanne Berkmortel, Mary Cowan and Fans Van Gerwen; and an extensive extended family including many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by brothers Harry, John, Gerard and Arnold Van Gerwen. Ann will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
She had many talents including being an amazing seamstress and sewing pattern designer, an artist whose paintings hang in the homes of many family members and friends, a 30-year volunteer with the Red Cross, as well as a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, friend and community member.
Visitation will take place on Wednesday, August 31, 2022 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at KITCHING, STEEPE & LUDWIG FUNERAL HOME, 146 Mill Street N., Waterdown. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, September 1, 2022 at 1 p.m. at ST. THOMAS THE APOSTLE CHURCH, 715 Centre Rd., Waterdown and will also be live-streamed. Interment will follow at St. Thomas Cemetery. A reception will be held in the church hall following the interment.
Donations to the Red Cross would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
