In loving memory of our father, John (Johan) Walter Matties, who passed away peacefully, surrounded by his adoring family, in
Abbotsford, B.C. on October 6, 2022, at the age of 88. He was the devoted husband of Dolores Emma and loving father of Lorelei Hazard, Brenda Golden, Bonita Barber, Joanne Moorman, Darrell Matties, and Mark Matties. He is survived by his wife
and children; his sister Martha Anderson; brothers – in – law Stan Lee, Wayne Lee, and Gerald Lee; over 15 grandchildren;
over 30 great grandchildren; 3 great – great grandchildren; and countless nieces, nephews and friends. He will be deeply missed
by his family and all who knew him. One of the kindest souls on Earth, our father was a gentle, giving man who faced every challenge in life with admirable strength, courage, and dignity. Our father exemplified the importance of hard work and he
taught us the value of honesty and integrity. As an ordained Pastor, he was a man of strong faith and he nurtured devotion to
the Lord and the sacred bonds of family. Our father was a true role model who we will always look up to. Father, you are now with your saviour Jesus, in your rightful and eternal place in Heaven – you will be fondly remembered and will live on forever in our hearts. We love you so much. Rest in peace.
