Johan Alf Cooper
1935-2022
It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the peaceful passing of Alf Cooper on July 15, 2022 at the age of 86. Alf will be sincerely missed and lovingly remembered by his children: Gayle Wenzel and Wayne Cooper; four grandchildren: Kristi (Jason) Blouin, Sheldon (Reiko) Wenzel, Kendra (Charles) Adams, and Danielle Cooper; his sister: Joyce Johnston; eight great-grandchildren: Keogan, Sawyer, and Kace Blouin, Blaze and Bexton Wenzel, and Emmett, Gavin, and Foster Adams, as well as many dear relatives and friends. Alf is predeceased by his loving wife: Barbara; parents: Margaret Tetreau and Josiah Cooper; sister: Edith Walker; brother: Edwin [Birch] Cooper; and son in law: Jim Wenzel.
Alf was born and raised on the family farm in Falun, AB. Once married to Barbara his career as a power engineer had them living in various places. Alf and Barb had many memorable experiences during their lifetime together traveling the world with their children while Alf worked for Chevron. Later in life, Alf and Barb returned to the farm in Falun to retire while spending their winters down south.
Alf was a proud poppa and adored his family. Alf was charming and often the center of attention. Alf’s stories and jokes brought laughter into everyone’s life. Through Alf’s distinguished strength he inspired many to be determined and hard working. Alf will be forever missed and never forgotten.
A small family graveside service will be held July 27, 2022. All who knew Alf are invited to join the family for a celebration of life afternoon tea that will start at 1:00pm, July, 27, 2022 at Falun Community Hall.
