Joanne Marie Glen (Wildgen)
February 3, 1953 – July 31, 2022
Peacefully passed away with her family by her side, on Sunday July 31, 2022. Mrs. Joanne Glen of Goderich, in her 70th year.
There are no words to express the heartbreak we feel as we mourn the loss of an amazing woman. She is admired for the strength, determination and courage shown through her short battle with cancer.
She will be remembered for her quick wit, passion for gardening and baking, but most importantly the love for her family. Joanne spent many years giving back to her community as a baseball and curling coach, Sunday School teacher and Girl Guide leader. Joanne was compassionate and caring right until the end saying “this may not help me but it can hopefully help someone else.”
Joanne is survived by her loving husband Gordon Glen of 46 years. Her five children Adam Glen (Amélie Lagacé), Brian (Carey) Glen, Kathy Glen (Joe Hallam), Dawna Courtney, Mary (Brett) Holmes. Loved and cherished by her 10 grandchildren Addisun, Elliott, Henry, Lauren, Lili, Brandon, Danicka, Mathis, Bethany and Keith.
Beloved niece to Raymond Van Eenooghe, Dear sister and sister in-law of Pauline Davis, Patricia Wildgen, Pamela (Ernie) Wildgen, Mike (Norma) Wildgen, Casey (Nadine) Wildgen, Chris Wildgen, Jean (Doug) Dale and Betty (Mike) Kelly. Fondly remembered by her many neices, nephews, cousins and friends.
Joanne is predeceased by her son Paul Glen (in infancy), her parents Herbert and Paula (Van Eenooghe) Wildgen, brother Jack Wildgen and his wife Carol, In-laws Robert and Muriel (Wise) Glen, brother in-laws Jack Davis and Douglas Dale, nephew Kevin Dale (in infancy) and her very best friend Marie Hibbert.
A private family internment to be held at Bairds Cemetery on August 8, 2022.
In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada or the AMGH Foundation.
Sincerest appreciation to the Oncology and Palliative Care teams at LHSC who provided exemplary care during her short stay. Many thanks to friends, neighbours and coworkers who have supported Joanne and the family throughout this difficult time.
