Joan Lavina Maynes 1934 2022

Obituary of Joan Lavina Maynes
Joan Lavinia Maynes (nee Garnsey) passed away on Wednesday, September 14, 2022 at 87 years of age. She was predeceased by her husband of 63 years, James; parents William and Belice Garnsey; daughter-in-law Julie Maynes; as well as many other extended family members. Joan is survived by her son Bill (Janice); daughter Karen (Dion) Moldovan; brother Doug (Chris) Garnsey; grandchildren Deanna (Tim) Nauta, Garrett (Amanda) Maynes, Kyle Maynes (Sarah), Dylan and Alexa Moldovan; four great-grandchildren, Jett and William Nauta, and Hannah and Carson Maynes; along with many others who held a special place in her heart.
Joan was born in Regina, SK, married in 1956 and became a wonderful homemaker, dedicated wife and mother. She went to Sacred Heart Academy and had a life-long career as a legal secretary. She loved spending time with family, especially with Dave and Edna at the cottage in Sandy Beach playing multiple games of cribbage. She was also a voracious reader, and you would often find her reading one of her many novels.
We want to thank all the staff at Sunset Extendicare who cared for Mom so well over these past few years, especially during COVID when it was such a challenge. There will be a Celebration of Life at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Saskatchewan, 301-2550 12th Avenue, Regina, Saskatchewan, S4P 3X1.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Joan
