Obituary of Joan Higginson
HIGGINSON, Joan – passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family at the Pembroke Regional Hospital, on Thursday, March 31, 2022 in her 84th year.
Dorothy Joan Higginson (nee Spittall) of Pembroke, beloved wife of the late William “Bill” Higginson. Dearly loved mother of Rhea Higginson (Adam Macdonald) of Ottawa. Cherished grandma to Talia & Billy Wootton, both of Ottawa. Daughter of the late Alexander & Dorothy Spittall (nee Bartlett). Dear sister of Robert Spittall (Colette), Ottawa. Survived and missed by her nieces and nephews; Rob & Andra Spittall, Kevin MacDougal (Carolyn), Nancy Blake and Cathy Sloan (Bob).
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Dr. Needham-Nethercott and nursing staff at the Pembroke Regional Hospital I.C.U and to the paramedics for their excellent care and compassion during this difficult time.
Resting at the Malcolm, Deavitt & Binhammer Funeral Home, 141 Renfrew St., Pembroke on Tuesday, April 5 from 2:00 til 4:00 & 7:00 til 9:00 p.m. Funeral service in the chapel on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. Please note that we ask all guests who are attending the funeral service in the chapel to please wear a mask. Spring interment in Holy Trinity Anglican Cemetery.
