Joana Kuras 2022

In her 100th year, Joana passed away peacefully at home on Mother’s Day.
Beloved wife of the late Cesius. Loving mother of Joana, Paul (Rasa), Virginia (Linas), Ruth(Daniel); grandmother of Tomas (Vija), Darius, Daina (Brady), Vaiva (Matas), Viktor (Erika), Elena, Christine (Chelsea) and Alex; great-grandmother of Sigita, Ema, Liam and Karina; and sister of Sigitas. She will be lovingly remembered by nieces and nephews, and family in Lithuania.
Joana was born in Lithuania, immigrated to Canada, and married the love of her life, Cesius, in Manitoba. They created homes for the family in Winnipeg, Swan River and Minnedosa, then settled in Windsor 53 years ago. She was proud of her Lithuanian heritage and instilled a love for the language and culture in her children. A gracious hostess, she was known for her love of baking and cooking. All were welcomed into her home with a warm smile and generous hospitality.
