Passed away, at the Barrie Memorial Hospital, Ormstown, on Friday, January 7 th, 2022, Mrs Joan Ykema nee Arthur aged 96 years. Beloved wife of the late Leo Ykema. She leaves to mourn her sons :Jan (Deborah Kozaback),Oene (Trudy Soesbergen),Wellington ( Annette Leblanc), Leo (Vickey Paul), Hartley ( Janice Brownlee), Robert ,her eighteen grandchildren, and stepgrandchildren, her fourteen great grandchildren, her brother Robert (Frances Elliot) and her sister Eloise (late Donald MacFarlane) also many relatives and friends. Predeceased by her brothers and sisters : Hazel (late Robert Cottingham),Hartley (late Mary Purnell), Margaret ( late Georges McIntyre), Marion, William ( late Marguerite Elliot), John (late Rose Legros). Due to the circumstances, the funeral will be held at the parlor in the intimacy of the family on Wednesday January 19, 2022. Burial at Athelstan Presbyterian Cemetery in Spring.
