In loving memory of Joan Retty Lenart (nee King). Peacefully, Monday, May 9th, 2022 at Health Sciences North. Beloved wife of Norman Lenart. Loving mother of Tim Retty (predeceased 2010), Gregg (Anne) and stepchildren Sharon Tessier (predeceased), Jeff Lenart (Barb) and John Lenart. Chrished grandmother of Chase Retty. She had many adoptive grandchildren. Dear daughter of Lloyd and Rae King (nee Frisken), both predeceased. Dear sister of Shirley Harju (Henry) both predeceased, Barb McVittie (Jim-predeceased), Billy King (predeceased). Sadly, missed by many nieces and nephews. Joan was always quick to help others. She will be remembered as a very caring person. She was a dedicated nurse having worked over 30 years at Sudbury General Hospital. She was a committed volunteer at the St. Joe’s Breast Screening Clinic and many years at the Inner City Home. A woman of faith, she had been an active member of St. Mark’s United Church where she provided leadership and fellowship to the church’s ministries and activities. The priority of her life was her family especially her precious grandson. The light of her life will be cherished by all who knew and loved her. In lieu of flowers, donations to Inner City Home or St. Mark’s United Church would be appreciated.
