HUMMEL, Joan Charlotte Edna “Joanie”
The family of Joanie Hummel is saddened to announce her passing on Sunday, May 22, 2022 at Nipissing Serenity Hospice after a months-long battle with lung cancer. She was 89 years old. Joanie (Reichstein) was predeceased by her husband Cletus Hummel (1936-2020). She was the much-loved mother of Mark (Karen) of North Bay, Randy (Deanne) of Trout Creek and Monty (Mandy) of North Bay. She will be lovingly remembered by grandchildren Taylor (Jordan), Madison, Brett, Arianna and Maddie. Joanie was the dear sister of Jean Rennette (the late Bert) of Trout Creek, and was predeceased by her siblings Irene Russell (late Gerald), Lourdes Van Mierlo (late John) and Robert “Buddy” (Norma of Trout Creek), Mervin (late Gertrude), Justin (Dianne of North Bay), Ronald (late Carol), Grenville, Gerald, Shirley, Barbara and sister-in-law Vera Reichstein. The Hummel family will receive visitors at Sacred Heart Church, Trout Creek, on Friday, June 3, 2022 from 7:00 to 9:00 pm. A Memorial Mass will be held in the church on Saturday, June 4 at 2:00 pm, followed by interment of ashes at Sacred Heart Cemetery.
