Joan Green
1937-2022
Joan Green of Riverview passed away on Saturday, April 16,
2022 at the Moncton Hospital following a courageous battle with
cancer. Born in Winterton, NFLD., she was the daughter of the late
Ralph and Mary (Harnum) Bursey.
In her early life she was a nurse’s aid at the Old
Perlican Hospital in NFLD. Joan met the love of her life,
John in 1954 and the two were happily married for 58 years.
They had 4 children, 9 grand-children and 1 great
grandchild. Joan was a dedicated mother, grandmother and
loved them all immensely. Family came first above all else
and she loved spending time with them. She thoroughly
enjoyed family gatherings. Her grandchildren were her pride
and joy.
Joan was an active member of Saint Paul’s United
Church and a lifetime member of UCW.
She is survived by her daughter Sharon of Riverview; son Ray
(Nicole Cormier) of Moncton, John (Debra) of Amherst; son in law Guy
Bourque of Riverview; sisters; MagritaBest, Gwen Rodgers, Donna
(Steve) Callahan, Ellie (Earl) Pryor, Carol (Don) Hindy; grandchildren
Jennifer, Alyson, Amanda, Jarrett, Sarah, Kristin, Jordon, Haley,
Nicholas and great-grandson Dawson. She was predeceased by
her husband John and daughter Jackie.
The family will be receiving friends and relative at
Cobb’s Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 330 Whitepine
Road, Riverview (869-2007) on Monday, April 25, 2022 from 6:00
– 8:00 pm and Tuesday, with a service celebrating her life
to take place Tuesday, April 26th at 11 AM from
the funeral home with Rev. Steve Berube presiding. Masks are
strongly encouraged for the visitation and service.
Donations made to Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by her
family.
