HAWKINS (nee Casselman), Joan –
After a long battle with dementia, Joan passed away at the Bob Rumble Home for the Deaf on Friday, July 1, 2022 in her 81st year. Beloved wife of her late husband James for 48 years, Joan is survived by her loving sons Bob and his wife Kathy, and David. Cherished grandmother of Cassidy, Kaitlyn, Austin, Emily, Carson and Madeline.
Joan was a devoted staff member of the University of Guelph for over 35 years and a long-standing volunteer with the Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary (Br. 234). Joan will be sorely missed by her friends and countless lives she touched throughout her career and the deaf community in Guelph.
Resting at Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home, as expressions of sympathy, donations to the The Bob Rumble Foundation for the Deaf would be appreciated by the family. Donations can be made by cash or cheque at the funeral home or online following the link below.
As per the wishes of Joan, the family will be holding a private burial ceremony to remember and celebrate her life. The family wish is for all those who knew Joan to do the same.
