It is with great sadness that we announce that Joan passed away peacefully on the morning of Sunday, June 5, 2022 at the Mountain Lake Seniors Community in Nelson, BC.
Born August 23rd, 1924 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, she was the only daughter of Carl and Mary Mutchler.
After graduation, she moved to Trail where she met Bill. They married in 1947 and together raised their family in Rossland, BC. In later years, they moved to Grand Forks, BC.
Predeceased by her husband of 50 years, William Ernest Dobbs in 1998; brother James Irving in 1944; sisters-in-law Daisy Thatcher, Winn Dobbs, Patricia Ferguson, and Joan Swanson; and companion Otto Schoenrank.
Joan will be most remembered as an outstanding wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and will be dearly missed by her sons Jim (Elyn), Dave (Gaile) and Bill (Holly); grandchildren Joel, Michael, Joshua, Timothy, Melanie, Kristen, Alicia, Lawrence, Fraser, and Graeme; great-grandchildren Finley, Henna, and William.
Joan will be interred beside Bill at a private family celebration in Grand Forks later this summer.
Memorial donations in Joan’s name may be made to a charity of your choice.
