It is with deep sorrow and love that the family of Joan Catherine Kleisinger announce her peaceful passing, with her girls by her side on Monday, March 28, 2022 at the age of 84 years.
Joan will be lovingly remembered by her husband Gerald; daughters Nancy (Tim), Carmel; grandchildren Stephanie (Steve), Nickie (Robbie), Joshua; step-grandchildren Kristie (Ryan), Josh (Liane); step-great-grandchildren Rachel, Parker, Jackson; sister Louise; brother David (Susan); sisters-in-law Ruby, Joan; brothers-in-law Leonard (Carol), Wayne; as well as numerous nieces and nephews, relatives, and friends.
Joan was predeceased by her parents Richard and Rose, brother Harvey, and step-great-grandson Noah.
Joan was a beautiful soul. She was a kind, sweet, gentle, loving woman, who enjoyed a good laugh and having fun. She loved her family, and her furry friends deeply, selflessly, and unconditionally. She had a passion for travelling especially to sun destinations, playing and watching sports, going on long walks with her dogs, and working on her home and in her yard. She was masterful at doing crossword puzzles and loved a good game of solitaire. She loved her coffee black and devoured anything sweet. She was an avid runner and had many medals to prove it; and she was a devoted volunteer who taught her daughters the immense importance of kindness and helping those less fortunate.
As a mother, she gave everything for her girls; she was their best friend. Even though Joan’s journey with dementia robbed her of so much, it did not destroy the essence of her being, the genuine goodness and giving nature of her soul. In fact, she gave her girls the gift of knowing them to the very end. She was such a beautiful gift to her family, and she will be forever cherished and incredibly missed.
A private interment and Celebration of Life for family and friends will be held at a future date.
The family wishes to send a heartfelt thank you to the staff at the Wolseley Memorial Integrated Health Centre for their loving care and compassion. Mom always told us that she was happy there. We cannot thank you enough for always treating her with respect and dignity.
