Jo Anne Burton, nee Moss, passed away peacefully in the hospital in Ottawa, Ontario in the early morning hours on Wednesday, January 12th surrounded by her family. Beloved wife of 51 years to Scott Burton and loving and proud mother of daughter, Karen Burton, and son, Kevin Burton.
Jo Anne, known fondly as “Jo” or “Joey” by family and friends, was born on February 5, 1951 in Toronto, Ontario. Always the life of the party, she was proud of her work as head teller for 23 years at the Royal Bank and was best known for her quick wit, great sense of humour, and her amazing cooking.
She was predecessed by her parents Francis Moss, born in Galt, Ontario and Verna Moss nee Ehrhart, born in Steinbach, Manitoba. Jo Anne is survived by her three siblings, her sister Jacqueline Moss of Kanata, Ontario, her brother Brian Moss (Rosie) of Barrie, Ontario, and her sister Gayle Moss (Charles).
At her request, there will be a small family gathering at the Tubman Garden Chapel on Sunday, January 16th at 2pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be donated in her name to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.
