Obituary of Jim Rose
ROSE, Harry James ‘Jim’ passed away peacefully in Listowel on Monday, July 18, 2022. Born 94 years ago in the East Lake area of Prince Edward County he was predeceased by his wife Olive (nee Carswell). Loving father of Paul and his wife Muriel of Virginiatown, Patricia Playford and her husband John of Port Elgin, Larry and his partner Gina of Kitchener, Debbie Rourke and her husband John of London, and Jeffrey and his wife Betty of Calgary. Much loved grandfather of J.J Rourke, Matthew Rose, Mike Rourke (Tori), Robert Rourke (Ashley) and Bryan Rourke and great grandfather of Sophie, Benjamin, Taylor, Elizabeth, Hope and Alyssa. Dear brother of Jean Howes and her husband Jack of Belleville and brother-in-law of Eleanor Radford of Belleville. Missed by his very good friend Jean Edwards. Predeceased by parents Wilhelmina (nee Main) and Harry Rose, grandson Timothy Rose and daughter-in-law Nancy.
Jim was a very avid jogger and loved to ski both downhill and cross country. He was a proud retiree of Equitable Life which employment allowed him to tour the Rockies and Colorado and combine business with his skiing passion. With his membership of numerous Anglican Churches, he was a faithful member of many choirs for over 80 years.
Family and friends may call at the DOWNS AND SON FUNERAL HOME, Hepworth on Friday, July 22, 2022 from 12:00 – 1:45 p.m. The funeral service will be conducted from the funeral home on Friday at 2:00 p.m. Interment Mount Pleasant Cemetery, London. Expressions of remembrance to St. George’s Anglican Church, Owen Sound or the Sauble Beach & District Lions Club would be appreciated.
