With heavy hearts, we announce Jim’s passing on December 21, 2022, at 73 years of age peacefully with his family by his side. Dear husband of 38 years to Diane (nee Ridder). Loving father of Jody O’Connor (Sean Kilfeather), Sara Machiniak (Tom), and Carly Mailloux (Tom). Treasured Grandpa “O” of Lucy, Ben, Mason, Henry, Nora, Forrest, and Sawyer. Son of the late Gerald and Sadie O’Connor. Son-in-law of Willem and the late Mina Ridder. Brother of Mary Leroux (late Tip), Elaine McCarthy (Larry), Bobby (Diana), Ricky (Joanne), and Kimberly. Predeceased by Maureen, Kathy, Donnie, Gerald (Ellen), Patrick, Jackie, Jo-Anne (late Glenn) and Sharon (late Gil). Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Jim retired from CN Rail after 46 years of service. He could bring a smile to anyone’s face with his witty sense of humour. Jim loved golf, baseball, his Toronto Maple Leafs, the Detroit Lions and collecting train memorabilia. Jim is resting at Kennedy Funeral Home Ltd. (519-776-7378) 128 Talbot St. North, Es on Tuesday, Dec 27, 2022, from 2-5 p.m. and from 7 until time of the prayer service at 8:30 p.m. Cremation to follow.
