Jim Little
April 12, 1935 – February 17, 2022
Little, James (Jim) MacKinlay – 86, Glenholme, passed away at home surrounded by the love and support of his wife and family on February 17th, 2022. Born in Bishop Falls, NL, he was the only son of the late Dr. Perley and Eileen (MacKinlay) Little. Jim is survived by his loving wife of over 55 years, Joanne (Giddens) Little; children, James “J” Little (Glenda Richardson), Valley; Stephen Little (Stephanie Laffin), Glenholme; Angela (Kyle) McKinnon, Upper Tantallon; grandchildren, Brandon, Kyle and Zoey Little; Kailyn and Jessica Little, and Jeremy Hamilton; Rachel and Ella McKinnon; great-grandchild, Noah Little. Jim is also survived by sister, Judy Little. He was predeceased by grandson, John Little; sisters, Midge Horner, Joan Potter and Kathryn Grainger. Jim was very proud of being born in Bishops Falls, Newfoundland and loved to share the neat fact that this was “before Canada became a part of Newfoundland”. Jim was always an entrepreneur at heart and this was apparent in the many businesses he started and how he always enjoyed trying something new. He truly loved building and creating things and he enjoyed planning and building homes and special projects for his family. He was an electrician, carpenter, and plumber and he was especially proud that he and his family fully built a house together in East Village. Above all else, his greatest love was his wife and family. Husband, Dad, Big Bear, Papa – We love you. The family want to extend a sincere thanks to Dr. Idoko and his team for their many calls, kindness and support making it possible for Jim to remain at home as he wished. A special thanks to the exceptional Palliative Care nurse, Angela McDonnell, for her kindness, warmth, guidance and support for Jim and family for making his final days as comfortable as possible. A very special thanks to granddaughter, Kailyn Little, who is about to graduate as an LPN, for her absolutely incredible help, attentiveness, support and exceptional care. We are very grateful. Interment will be held at a later date in Mahon Cemetery, Great Village. If so desired, support and donations to Hospice Colchester East Hants would be appreciated. Arrangements are in the care of MacDiarmid’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Oxford.
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Jim Little April 12 1935 February 17 2022..
