Jim Glendenning Wednesday August 10th 2022

William James ‘Jim’ Glendenning of Harriston passed away at St. Mary’s Hospital, Kitchener, with his children by his side, on Wednesday, August 10, 2022, in his 70th year, after a courageous battle with an aggressive illness.
Beloved father of Valerie Glendenning & Damon Stapinsky of Quadra Island, B.C., and John Glendenning, and Tom Glendenning, both at home, and adoring grandfather of Sophie and Ryker.
Brother of Gary Ritchie & Gail of Ohio, Joan Stewart & Doug of London, Betty Phillips & Harry of Guelph, and Nancy Gilbert & Fred of Rockwood.
Predeceased by his parents John & Annie Eva (Ritchie) Glendenning.
A lifelong resident of Wellington County, “home” with his family was Jim’s favourite place. He was an overflowing well of mechanical creativity, which he made a career of, as he always loved finding a smart solution to a problem.
Jim loved flying, history, and sharing the outdoors with his children and others. His strong work ethic, endless patience, kind smile, good humour, and positivity, were carried in all aspects of his life.
A Celebration of Jim’s life will be held at Whites Road Pentecostal Church, Harriston, on Thursday, August 18, 2022 at 2:00 p.m., with visitation one hour prior, and reception to follow. Rev. Brad Sumner officiating.
Memorial donations to St. Mary’s Hospital Foundation may be made through Hardy-Lee Funeral Home, Harriston.
