Jessie Wong 1927 2022

Obituary of Jessie Wong
WONG, Jessie
(nee) Walters
July 3, 1927- July 9, 2022
Strike up the band, assemble the choir, another Salvation Army soldier has gone home to her Lord and Saviour, just a week after celebrating her 95th birthday with her family. Jessie passed away peacefully with her son, daughter-in-law and grandson at her bedside.
Jessie is the wife of Henry Wong predeceased in 2008 and mother to Ron Wong (Fran), grandmother to Sean Wong (Debbie) and Calvin Wong (Erin) with grandchildren Brooklyn, Emma (Jurgen), Shaelyn, Julia, Levi, Benjamin and Sophie. Jessie is survived by her sister Yvonne, and was predeceased by sisters Annie, Nora, Joan, and Pauline along with brothers Charles, Allison, and Eli. Growing up in a large family, Jessie also had multiple nieces and nephews that she cherished and prayed for regularly.
Jessie was mostly known for being a stalwart ‘Prayer Warrior’ for any and all who requested prayer on their behalf. When she prayed in a public setting the Spirit of God descended in a powerful way and people were blessed and inspired. Always a behind the scenes woman of faith, putting others’ interests above her own, and shying away from any kind of limelight.
Visitation will be held at James Reid Funeral Home at 1900 John Counter Blvd., Kingston, on Sunday July 24th from 6-8 pm with the funeral service at The Salvation Army Kingston Citadel on Monday July 25th at 11 am. In lieu of flowers those who wish to honour Jessie could make a donation to The Salvation Army Kingston Citadel, 816 Centennial Drive, Kingston ON, K7M 0A4.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Jessie
