Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jerry Chase on Thursday, November 10, 2022 at the age of 72 years.
Dear son of the late Hryhoryj Chyzyj and the late Maria Ryszko.
Beloved husband of Marlene Chase (née Séguin).
Dear brother of Natalie Stibernik (late Augustine), Myra Chyzyj and the late George Chyzyj; and brother-in-law of Kathleen Gagné (Gaëtan). Proud uncle of Tracy Chyzyj-Vince, Trevor Chyzyj-Vince (Robyn Carriere), Taralyn Chyzyj-Vince (Martin Paquette) and Jacynthe Gagné (Jonathan Wilhelmy); and great-uncle of Emilia and Ellis Carriere.
Jerry was a kind gentle man who preferred the road less travelled, as his indoor goldfish pond will attest. He laughed easily and always saw the humorous side of things. He was an avid plant enthusiast and built greenhouses to support his passion. Jerry loved all creatures great and small and would save little lives constantly. Jerry was easy going and would happily lend a hand to anyone who needed help. A talented builder who was creative and open to new ideas, he would start a new building project of some sort every year. Jerry enjoyed life’s journey.
A Memorial Service will be held at Lamarche & Hill Funeral Home, 709 rue Principale, Casselman, ON, K0A 1M0, (613) 764-3286 on Saturday, November 19, 2022 at 2 pm. Spring Interment, St. Viateur Parish Cemetery, Limoges.
As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations made to the Ottawa Humane Society would be appreciated by the family.
