Obituary of Jerome Edward McPhee
McPHEE, Jerome Edward – age 88 of Rines Creek, passed away peacefully on March 19, 2022 with his wife and sister-in-law by his side in Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born in River Bourgeois, he was a son of the late Freeman and Sarah Jane (Boudreau) McPhee.
Jerome was a skilled handyman and could repair anything. He was a kind and caring person and would help anyone who needed it. He spent 40 years driving a tractor trailer and loved every minute. Jerome was also a volunteer for the Canadian Red Cross for over 14 years as well as The Salvation Army. He will be dearly missed by family, friends and all those whose lives he touched.
Jerome is survived by his wife, Annette (Gabereau); many foster children; brother, Cletus (Mary); sisters, Rose (Bernard) and Florence (Calvin); many nieces and nephews; sister-in-law, Margie; brother-in-law, Herb.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Bernie, Joseph, Wilfred, Tommy in infancy; sisters, Margaret, Theresa, Edith in infancy.
Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Ettinger Funeral Home, Shubenacadie. A celebration of life will be held at 1 – 3 PM on Saturday, June 4, 2022, at 13006 Highway 215, Rines Creek. A private family burial will be held at a later date.
Donations in Jerome’s memory may be made to the Canadian Red Cross or the Canadian Cancer Society.
The family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude to the palliative care staff at the Colchester East Hants Health Centre.
