BLADES, Jeremiah Everett “Jerry” – 89, of Shag Harbour, Shelburne County passed away, Wednesday, January 26, 2022, at Roseway Hospital, Shelburne. Born at Upper Woods Harbour, he was the son of the late Robert and Hattie (Chetwynd) Blades. He enjoyed going in the woods with his grandson, Darren, mossing, and his favourite pastime was listening to the radio. He loved going for drives with his wife and Darren, and stopping to the garages to look at cars. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He is survived by grandson, Darren (Tracy), Shag Harbour; 3 granddaughters, Breanna, St. John’s, NFLD; Samantha-Jo, and Madison, Beaverdam; several nieces and nephews in Nova Scotia and Massachusetts, USA. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Geraldine; and daughter, Janet Beth; brothers, Murray, Carl, Edwin, Joe, Clifford, Lawrence, Robert, David, Thomas, Walter; sisters, Violet, Vera, Aseneath, Marion, and Lillian. There will be no visitation by request. A memorial service will take place at a later date. Burial was held in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Upper Woods Harbour. Memorial donations in his name may be made to the Mount Pleasant Cemetery or a charity of your choice.
