Obituary of Jenny Hughes
Our beautiful daughter, sister, aunt and niece Jenny passed away peacefully on October 17, 2022 at the age of 48, after a life-long battle with Rett Syndrome.
Jenny loved creating art, going shopping, and listening to the goings-on at her care home on Highway 43. Those who knew Jenny well know how much she enjoyed her firemen calendars and watching football. She was also a member of the Red Hat Misfits and had some wonderful times with them.
She is survived by her parents Wayne and Barb (nee Hamilton), her sisters Pam (Dan) Burns, and Amanda, her nieces Brittany, Hannah and Zoë, and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
The family would like to thank the amazing caregivers at Jenny’s home on Highway 43 for all their years of care and compassion.
We would also like to thank the wonderful doctors and nurses at the Perth & Smiths Falls District Hospital for their care during a difficult time.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on October 25, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at the Blair & Son Funeral Home in Smiths Falls (112 Beckwith St. N.). A funeral service will follow in the Chapel at 1:00 p.m. Jenny will be laid to rest privately with her family at Blessed Sacrament Cemetery in Lombardy, ON.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Jenny’s name to the Ontario Rett Syndrome Association or the Perth & Smiths Falls District Hospital Foundation.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Jenny
