Obituary
It is with great sadness that we, the family, announce the peaceful passing of Jennifer Mae Scriven, 62, on Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at Trillium Health Partners Mississauga Hospital.
Born in Toronto, Ontario, Jennifer was beloved daughter of the late John Archibald “Jack” Scriven (March, 1990) and the late Jeanette Olive Maude (Thorne) Scriven (April, 2015). Jennifer was a wonderful and supportive mother to Alanna (Danilo) Donoso and loving and very proud grandmother to Nathan Donoso. She is mourned by her brothers Bill (Elaine) Scriven and Gary (Donna) Scriven. She will be fondly remembered by nephew Brett (Sandy) Scriven and niece Chelsea (Adam) Scriven. She was great-aunt to the precious Sienna Scriven. She will be forever missed by long-time best friend Roberta Bassett. “Friends for eternity”.
Jennifer was so proud to work in healthcare for over 30 years at Trillium Health Partners, touching many lives during her dedicated years of service. Jennifer was deeply dedicated and devoted to her daughter, Alanna, and grandson, Nathan, having so much joy in supporting their achievements and interests. She loved baseball and hockey and any sport Nathan was playing, always being the loudest hockey grandmother in the rink. She was so proud of her grandson. Jennifer showed us all how to be brave and strong, especially during the challenging last years of her life. We admired her outspoken spirit. She never shied away from “telling us how it was!” Her love of travel was shared with her family and many precious memories were made, especially during her mother-daughter trip to Ireland where she fell in love with the kind people and beautiful countryside.
A celebration of Jennifer’s life will be planned when we can once again gather together safely.
“May the road rise up to meet you,
May the wind be always at your back,
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
The rains fall soft upon your fields,
And, until we meet again…
May God hold you in the palm of His hand.”
Traditional Irish Blessing
If desired, donations can be made in Jennifer’s memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Kidney Foundation of Canada or Diabetes Canada.
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Jennifer Mae Scriven March 13 1959 January 19 2022 (age 62)..
