Jeffrey Waugh
Apr 19, 1952 – Sep 13, 2022
It is with a heavy heart that we announce the death of Jeff Waugh, who died peacefully at the Banff Mineral Springs Hospital after a brief illness.
Jeff was a resident of Banff for over 40 years. He first came to the mountains to work with Parks Canada, and then started his own travel business specializing in tours to South America including the Galapagos Islands, where he had been a naturalist guide.
Jeff is survived by his wife Candis, son Evan (Alana) of Vancouver,
and daughter Kiva currently studying in Australia. He is also survived
by his sister Glenda (Greg Watty) of Albany, California, and nieces, Lindsay Watty (Casey Scollin), and Elizabeth Watty, and by cousins
in British Columbia.
A heartfelt thank you to the home care nurses that were a tremendous support during this time, as well as the staff at the Banff Mineral Springs hospital who showed kindness and compassion. Thanks also to this loving community who have expressed an abundance of support and generosity to our family through this extremely difficult time.
In remembrance of Jeff, we ask that you enjoy a hike or a ski in the mountains and have a “wee dram” to toast him.
A private gathering will take place at a later date to honour Jeff’s life
well lived.
