Read, Jeffery Holt – 1964-2022.
Surrounded by his family and loved ones Jeffery Read passed away
peacefully Tuesday August 23, 2022, at 11:40 am, at the age of 57.
Jeffery was a loving husband, father, Pop Pop, brother, uncle and friend. Predeceased by his parents Holt (Fredrick) and Lottie (Charlotte) Read, his sister Lynn Ruhe and nephew Kenneth Frazer. He leaves to mourn, his wife of 31 years Michelle, his children Jason (Stacy), Elisha (Colin), Sarah (Bruno) along with his precious grandchildren Desmond, Olivia and Luca. He will be deeply missed by his siblings Barbara, Bob (Susan), Debbie (Joe), brother in law Fred, and all of his nieces and nephews. Jeffery laughed hard, loved harder and fought til the end. Jeff loved unconditionally and teased people relentlessly. The only thing Jeff didn’t do hard was hit a golf ball. He was a dedicated Calgary Flames fan, even if he didn’t agree with some of the new trades. Jeff was loved by many and will be missed by all. His memory will live on through his children and grandchildren. So much gratitude to all the staff on the oncology floor of the St. Catharines General Hospital. The nurses worked hard to keep Jeff comfortable during his last weeks.
Memorial donations, in honour of Jeffery Read, can be made out to the Welland Humane Society or Jumpstart. Cards will be made available at the H. L. Cudney Funeral Home, 241 Main Street, Welland. There will not be a funeral held because Jeff has decided to donate his body to science at McMaster University.
