Jeff’s Obituary
Gordon, Jeffrey Gay – 53, Oxford, passed away May 20, 2022. Born on February 19, 1969, in Truro, he was a son of Gay Gordon and the late Deborah (Horton) Gordon. Jeff grew up in Oxford, graduated high school in 1989, and then attended NSCC taking heavy equipment mechanics. He soon left for out west where he spent over 20 years as a mechanic, machine operator, and finally a pipeline inspector. After returning to Oxford with his partner JoAnne and their dog Clipper, he started his own heavy equipment business, quickly establishing a reputation for excellence. Jeff was known to work hard and to play hard, and fostered a very independent spirit. When he wasn’t at the controls of a big machine, he could be found enjoying nature. He especially enjoyed canoeing, fishing, snowmobiling, and silviculture. He is survived by his wife, JoAnne Whitley; father, Gay, Oxford; brothers, Joey (Jung Hee Lee), Oxford; Mark (Sunya), South Korea. Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. Wednesday, May 25 in MacDiarmid’s Funeral Home & Crematorium, Oxford. Donations may be made to VON Cumberland.
