Obituary for
Jean Sawchyn
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jean Sawchyn on Monday, November 21, 2022, at the age of 99 years. Jean was the loving wife of the late Henry Sawchyn, the beloved mother of daughter, Denise and cherished grandmother of Cody and Joshua Lang.
Jean was predeceased by her husband, Henry Sawchyn. She is survived by her one and only child, her daughter, Denise; son in-law, Barry; grandsons, Cody (Carmen) and Joshua (Jillanne); great-grandchildren, Gunnar, Raelle, Rio and Sacha; as well as numerous nieces and nephews, relatives and close dear friends.
The family wishes to thank the doctors and nursing staff at Lewis Estates Retirement Residence and more recently, Venta Care Centre for their care and compassion towards Jean in her final years after Henry’s passing.
A Prayer Service will be held Thursday, December 8, 2022, at 6 p.m. at Park Memorial Chapel, 9709 – 111 Avenue, Edmonton. A Burial Service will be held Friday, December 9, 2022, at 10 a.m. at St. Josaphat Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral, 10825 – 97 Street, Edmonton. Cathedral Clergy officiating with interment in St. Michael’s Cemetery.
