JEANNINE DURAND
March 19, 1927 – January 1, 2022
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jeannine Durand, our beloved mother, wife, and grandmother in her 95th year. Jeannine passed peacefully on January 1, 2022 in Bethammi Nursing Home.
Jeannine loved her family and especially loved her children and grandchildren. She had a special bond with her granddaughter Melanie. She was so thankful for the staff of Bethammi, she felt loved and cared for by all the staff, and shared a special connection with Jackie on the third floor. Her strong faith allowed her to persevere though the difficult times and now, she is in heaven with Jesus.
Survived by her children, Danielle (Tom) Currie, Serge (Reina) Durand, Carole (Mike) Rintamaki; grandchildren, Melanie, Kevin, Ian and Steven; great grandchildren Sophie, Alex, Ivy, Amelie and Winter.
Predeceased by her husband, Ed; daughter Celine and granddaughter Lise.
Funeral Services for the late Mrs. Jeannine Durand will be held privately in the WESTFORT CHAPEL, 420 West Gore Street at James. Interment will take place in St. Andrew’s Cemetery.
If friends so desire, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society or the Dew Drop Inn.
You can shed tears that she is gone,
Or you can smile because she has lived.
You can close your eyes and pray that
she will come back, or you can open your
eyes and see all that she has left.
Your heart can be empty because you
can’t see her, or you can be full of the
love that you shared.
You can turn your back on tomorrow
and live yesterday, or you can be happy
for tomorrow because of yesterday.
You can remember her and only that
she is gone, or you can cherish her
memory and let it live on.
You can cry and close your mind,
be empty and turn your back,
Or you can do what she would want:
smile, open your eyes, love and go on.
