Obituary
It is with heavy hearts the family announces the sudden passing of Jeannette.
Ecclesiastes 3: 1-2
“For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven: a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted…”
Jeannette was born in Lac La Biche, and raised in Grassland, AB. She was the 4th of 6 children and was always ready to try some new sport or perfect an already acquired one. Actually, she loved all sports. In her younger years she was an avid golfer, curler and table tennis player winning many awards.
Other interests included being a 4-H member in the clothing project and joining the Army reserves, where she received the award of Dominion Marksmanship.
Education was important to Jeannette. She was a good high school student, obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and later a 2 year Sports and Fitness course. Later she became an international table tennis umpire and coach.
Jeannette became a Social Worker and worked first in Edmonton and then in St. Paul.
She loved to travel and explored Turkey, Morocco, Europe, Mexico, and Australia and many locations in the USA and Canada.
Jeannette loved the outdoors, which included a large garden, camping, fishing and boating. She also enjoyed playing crib, repairing small engines, kitchen appliances and lawn furniture!
Jeannette will be dearly missed by her Mother, Mary, sisters Alma (Peter), Bonnie, brothers Rod (Liz), and Taras (Lynne), and numerous nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by her Father Dmytro, and brother Lawrence.
In memory of Jeannette, donations can be made to the Alberta Cancer Foundation or St. Paul Animal Shelter.
