November 29, 1926 – September 15, 2022
Jeanne passed away peacefully at Baycrest Centre after living a long, full and wonderful life. Growing up she had a keen sense of fashion. She was such a beautiful young woman, she was discovered on the streets of downtown Toronto and modelled for years. Jeanne adored music and loved to dance. It was on the dance floor where she met, and then married her husband of 50 years, George Sherman. She was a great collector of antiques. The thrill of finding them and bargaining was half the fun. Jeanne was an astute business woman who worked in the field of luxury apartment rentals for more than 60 years. Dedicated and incredibly organized she worked until she was 92, and loved every minute.
Jeanne is predeceased by her husband George, her sisters Zal (Doug Coutts,) Dolly (Nathan Katz,) and Tillie (Al Ross). More like a best friend, her niece, Sharryn Ross Phillips, as well as an intimate circle of friends who for over 80 years she cherished.
Devoted mother and mother-in-law to her loving daughters Carol (Erik Tanner), Debra, and Lisa (Philip Gigan). Bubbie to her beloved grandchildren, Ben, Jakob, Jason (Elise) and Jacqueline (Zachary Chait) of whom she was so very proud.
Jeanne will also be sadly missed by her many nieces and nephews.
We are forever grateful to Dr. Senderovich and the wonderful nurses and team at the Apotex Wing of The Baycrest Centre, including Marilyn, Rosalie and her caregiver Eva. They truly cared and made Jeanne’s days so much better.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Hospital of Sick Children www.sickkids.ca/en/support-sickkids/donate/
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Jeanne Shirley Sherman nee Ennis 2022..
