Obituary of Jean Constance Scott
Peacefully on Tuesday, November 15th surrounded by the love of her family. Jean, cherished wife of Cliff for 74 years. Devoted Mother of Stephanie (Keith) Grattan, Anne (David) Corbett, Paul Scott, and Judy (David) McBride. Cherished Grandma of Jenn, D’Arcy, and Andrew Corbett, Dawson and Evan Scott, Jaclyn, Katie, and Scott McBride, predeceased by her granddaughter Laura Grattan. Survived by her two great grandchildren Connor and Emma.
Jean and Cliff grew up in Bloor West Village, Toronto, she followed Cliff to Vancouver after his discharge from the Army, they married there.
They lived in Kitimat, Peterborough, Sarnia, before settling in St. Catharines in 1970. Jean returned to the workforce after her youngest child entered school and was a dedicated secretary for the Lincoln County Board of Education where she was greatly loved and appreciated. She was a volunteer with Community Care and had a smile that beamed out to everyone with warmth and welcoming. Jean and Cliff shared a deep commitment to their faith and it was expressed in the way they dealt with each other and those around them.
The Family will receive friends at the George Darte Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines on Thursday, November 17th from 6-8pm. A Final Tribute for Jean will be held in the Ceremony Room of the Funeral Home on Saturday morning, November 19th at 11am.
Heartfelt thanks are extended to the staff at Ina Grafton Gage Village for their compassionate care. If so desired, donations made to Community Care St. Catharines or Ina Grafton Gage Village in Jean’s memory, would be appreciated by her family.
