On behalf of our family, we are saddened to announce the passing of our mother, Jean Wheeler, on October 11, 2022, at the age of 90 in Osoyoos, BC.
Jean’s memory will be cherished by her daughters, Tammy (Fred) and Kim; son, Chad (Jenn); grandchildren, Lauren, Rochelle (Brian), Jordan (Alyssa), Karmen (Kosta), Danielle and James and great-grandchild Sky-Lee. Dearly missed by her sister Lorraine Wagner and sisters-in-law, Frances Itterman, Gail Berish and Cecilia Regner and many nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by her husband, Grant Wheeler (2015); son, Darren; son-in law, Brian; parents, Christian and Rosina Regner; in-laws, Robert (Bob) and Lovina (Dixie) Wheeler; brothers, Henry, Christian and John Regner and sister, Elsie Wormsbecker.
Jean was born in Kindersley Saskatchewan and moved to Oliver in the 1950’s where she met and married Grant Wheeler in 1959.
Jean worked at BC Telephone Company as a Telephone Operator in Oliver and Chilliwack, at the Oliver Packing house, and with Interior Health.
Jean also volunteered at St Paul’s Lutheran Church in Oliver over her entire adult life.
Jean was a very loving mother and grandmother to us. Her and Grant had many extended visits to Virginia, to stay with her daughter Tammy and her granddaughters. She was instrumental in being the best Gramma to all her grandkids, attended as many sporting events, Christmas concerts and Band concerts as possible and babysat for years so she could have as much time with them as possible. Those memories are cherished by all her grandkids.
A private celebration will be held at a later date.
