Petherick, Martha “Jean”… Passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, August 14th, 2022 at the age of 78. Beloved wife of James “Jim” Petherick for 57 beautiful years. Loving mother of Shelly & her husband Brian Love of Woodstock Georgia, USA and Jennifer & her husband Doug Watson of Campbellford. Proud grandmother of Hannah Love, Bailey Watson, Jorja Watson and RJ Watson. Jean will be truly remembered for her smile, laugh and spunky personality.
While taking on the struggle of losing her parents Gil & Pearl Richardson (nee Gilliand) in her 30’s, Jean remained strong and resilient. She had additional battles in her lifetime, but always tackled them with a strong mindset. Family members will laugh when remembering her love for horror movies and scaring her family, especially her grandchildren. Jean had a love for animals and will be missed by her fur baby Levi, her Shar Pei dog. She loved horses, she owned a total of 5 in her lifetime and 2 went on to become Grand Champion Arabians. Jean enjoyed traveling and camping with her husband Jim. They traveled coast to coast together, in 2007 starting in Alaska and the next year, 2008 traveling to Newfoundland. In addition to all that, her love for her family was above all. She was so proud to be a grandmother and her life filled with joy when each one of them entered this world.
Keeping with Jean’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Jean’s Life will take place at Jim & her home, 3019 11th Line East, Marmora on Sunday, August 21st, 2022 from 2-4 PM. Words of Memory will begin around 3 PM. Arrangements are entrusted with WEAVER Life Centre – Campbellford, 77 Second Street. As an expression of sympathy, a donation may be made to Campbellford Memorial Hospital Foundation.
