JEAN ALLISON FORCADE
1939-2022
The Forcade family is celebrating the life of Jean; loving spouse, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Jean passed away on Friday, August 5, 2022, at the age of 83.
Jean leaves behind a devoted family who will miss her dearly. She will be lovingly remembered by her children: Michele (Gregg), and Janice; grandchildren: Dan, Scott (Sarah), Matt (Hayley), Taylor (Steve), and Ryan (Teryn). Jean was also the proud great-gramma to the newest additions of our family tree, Benny and Harrison. Her younger sister Yvonne (Mick) sends their love and support from England. Jean was predeceased by her husband Bob in 2013.
Jean was born in Waterloo, Liverpool, England, in 1939. She was fondly known as Sheenagh to her parents and little sister whom she always called Vonnie. Jean loved show jumping and ballroom dancing. At the young age of 20, and with a brave sense of adventure, Jean left Liverpool and, with a friend, moved to Canada. They boarded a ship in Southampton and journeyed to Halifax where they then travelled by train to Edmonton. This working holiday was meant for a two year stay, however, Jean met and married the love of her life, Bob, and made a new life in Canada.
Together Jean and Bob had their two daughters and raised them in a supportive and loving home. With the exception of a six-year period in Oakville, Ontario, Jean spent the rest of her life in Edmonton and area. While we have lost a much-cherished member of our family we reflect on the fond memories that will remain in our hearts.
Our family sends a special thank you to the staff at Revera River Ridge for the ongoing care they provided. We would also like to acknowledge the care Jean received during her last weeks at the University of Alberta Hospital.
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Jean Forcade 2022..
