Jean Alberta Bracken May 8th 2022

Jean Alberta Bracken passed away Sunday, May 8, 2022 at the age of 97. Jean went to Siebertville school and after leaving school she worked at the Didsbury & Carstairs Cafes. She would open the Didsbury Cafe in the morning then catch the train to the Carstairs Cafe for 10 cents a trip and work in that Cafe then back on the train to Didsbury. Later she worked at Jenkins Variety store in Calgary. Jean & Frank Bracken were married Nov. 15, 1958. And together they worked on the Family Farm until Frank’s passing in 2013. They were happy and content in their lives. She loved farming, cattle, gardening, going for walks, reading, card games and floor curling. Her family meant everything to her and she loved it when we could all get together.
Jean was preceded by her loving husband, Frank; granddaughter, Brenda Ware; her parents, Evelyn & Edgar Charlton; sisters, Evalyne (Bob) Eckel and Phyllis (George) Campbell; brothers, Robbie, Howard (Ruth) Charlton and Ray (Elma & Joyce) Charlton; In-laws, Francis & Mina Bracken, Charles, Sarah Mae, Lora (Bill) Smith, Hazel (Tom) Camps, Ruth (Rueben) Bouck and Ethel Bracken.
Jean will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Heather (Martin) Foster, Karla (Don) Ware; grandchildren, Marsha, Marlene, Russell (Laura), Derek (Jenne); great-grandchildren, Mikayla, Ryenne, Ryder, Tallen, Taylor, Ty, Dex, Brooke, Casen, Drew and Alexander-Quintin; as well as numerous nieces & nephews. She will be greatly missed but never forgotten.
At Jean’s request, no Service will be held.
