JANINE…. MY ANGEL
…..and there she was in 1970, working the cash register in the Hudson’s Bay Record Department. All I needed was a simple “Hello!” from that beautiful smile and those beautiful eyes (that time never took from her) and I was smitten like never before. We began dating and I fell deeper and deeper in love every second we were together.
The story that we both shared over the years was when we took our first trip in my blue MGB sports car , that actually became hers most of the time. I called her “Parnelli Price”…Miss Leadfoot. We went out east on a lengthy two day trip and on the most northerly section we drove into a snowstorm. The highway was ice covered and suddenly, the car began to slide into an oncoming semi-truck. We looked at each other as to say “Goodbye” but as fate would have it , the car miraculously straightened out avoiding a head on crash. We would have perished in each other’s arms but the blessing really was that we had 52 more years together…and I was blessed with this angel.
Now…on day 2 of that trip we had beautiful Spring weather , so we put the top down, turned the radio up in that little blue MGB and stopped at a place called Kakabeka Falls. It was beautiful so we decided to stop, enjoy the scenery and serenity….and to laugh about the “highway goodbye!” As we sat snuggled together on a bench, we noticed two elderly women in conversation and looking at us several times. Finally, they came over and said…and I quote:
“Pardon us for interrupting but we have been watching you and we had to come over and say that you are a lovely couple…and you belong to one and other!”
Maybe…Angels from the future? Janine and I have recanted this story over and over and it always made others smile and made me look at her again and again and feel so blessed. We went on to have 3 beautiful children Jody, Courtney and our angel Kaleigh who went on to prepare a place for loved ones in 2008.
Janine, My Love….I will always think of your gentle ways….how you so easily befriended people anywhere with your radiant spirit. Your compassion for senior citizens was so caring, understanding and …amazing. You became a care giver and anyone receiving your attention was blessed.
Now, I pray that someday you will welcome me into your heart and loving arms again. I believe that you have been reunited with other loved ones but especially Kaleigh in a very beautiful world.
Shortly after I fell in love with you, I wrote and recorded a song that is forever yours called MY LOVE SINGS (A Song For Janine) So for now my precious soul mate, bask in the glorious welcoming light with these words that are for you…my one true love in life.
I stayed up to hear the song of love,
Singing softly by the window pane,
With tears of love falling from my eyes,
I drew near to kiss your dreams away,
Then you gave all your love to me,
And I gave all of my love to you,
My Love Sings.
Janine…I Love you, forever and a day///Joey

  1. I have some very precious memories of our time at CKY. The baseball tournaments. And who could forget Killarney .
I have all of you on video.
We celebrated Rick’s 40th but he was not there.
    We laughed lots.
Just recently I saw Janine. We were always running into each other in the stores.
    A little hug.
    Update smiles.
A wave say hello to Grant.
We became fb friends and as soon as their was a pic of Rick, she always had something warm to say.
    She was magical.
    A true earth angel.
You were both lucky to have that true blue love.
    You were certainly blessed.
    Earth lost a walking angel.
