Obituary of Janette Marie Campbell
It is with great sadness that we, the family, announce the passing of Janette Marie Campbell on Sunday August 21st. Born in Halifax she was the daughter of the late Gregory and Ruth (Baker) O’Leary.
Janette worked for the Federal Government for her entire career, first with Fisheries and Oceans and then with Public Works, retiring in 1994. She loved baseball, from playing when she was a child to watching every Blue Jays game she could. She loved to sing, and was a member of the St. Theresa’s Choir as well as the Tattoo Choir.
Janette was also an avid knitter, she would attend her knitting group, the Chatty Crafters faithfully every week and would be in her glory when her granddaughters would ask her to knit something for them.
Surviving are her daughter Karen (Jim) Chisholm, granddaughters Katie (Chet) and Becky Chisholm, siblings Diane O’Neill, Judy (Peter) Campbell, Robert (Ardythe) O’Leary and Susan (David) Ackman, as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents and brother-in-law Brian O’Neill.
Service will be held at St. Theresa’s Church, 6351 North Street, Halifax on Thursday September 1st at 2:00 pm.
