Obituary
Quietly in his own way, Jamie David Wytinck of Cypress River, MB, passed away on Tuesday August 16, 2022 at the Glenboro Hospital at the age of 61 years.
He will be sadly and lovingly missed by his wife Joelle (nee Vigier) and by his sons Christian and Miguel.
Jamie is also mourned by his nine siblings Tim (Sue), Rob (Michelle), Laurinda (Joe) Neyron, Francine (Karl) Cross, Corinna (Thomas) McKee, Candis (Trent) Olmstead), Kevin (Stacy), Daniel (Robyn) and Matthew (Kim); the Vigier family, father & mother-in-law Gerald & Huguette Vigier, brothers & sisters-in-law Johanne Ketsman, Marc (Louise) Vigier, Rheal (Sandy) Vigier, Michel (Jackie) Vigier, Darcelle Vigier (Dave), Donald (Rose) Vigier and by many nieces, nephews, cousins & friends.
He was predeceased by his parents, Edward and Margaret Wytinck, brothers-in-law, Claude Vigier, Denys Vigier, Henry Ketsman and nephew Mathieu Vigier.
Born May 15, 1961, Jamie grew up on the family farm nestled in the hills west of St. Alphonse. He was the oldest of 10 children and they were surrounded by love and known as the Happy Gang.
He started farming with his parents operating a dairy and grain farm. In 1984 Jamie and Joelle were married and started a dairy farm in the Hecla district near Glenboro then moved back to the family farm in 2005. He was very community minded and always offered his time to various committees.
In 2016 Jamie transitioned to grain and beef farming with his sons. He accepted new cropping ideas from his sons while adding old tricks and ideas from his time farming with his father Edward. He so looked forward to this year’s harvest. A man noted for his soft voice, gentle manner and always ready to listen.
Prayers followed by Mass of Christian Burial, will be held in the St Alphonse Catholic Church on Saturday August 20, 2022, commencing at 10:30 am. Overflow seating will be available outside St Alphonse Church as well as the St Alphonse Hall. Lunch reception will be held at the St Alphonse Hall with overflow being outside (please bring a lawn chair.)
