Obituary of James William Hawboldt
Hawboldt, James William- 73 Ecum Secum, passed away Saturday April 16th, 2022 in St. Mary’s Memorial Hospital, Sherbrooke. Born September 22nd, 1948 he was a son of the late Roger Breen and Marjorie (Miesner) Hawboldt. Jim worked in the woods in his younger years before working at Bickerton Industries, lobster fishing, then with his brother Gordon in the restaurant business. He then moved back home to Ecum Secum and purchased the Hawboldt Service Station and Takeout. In his later years he sold satellite dishes and operated Seaside Café. Jim loved cars, especially antique, watching Barrett Jackson auctions on TV and deer hunting when he was younger. Survived by his wife of 51 years Barb, daughter Tracey both of Ecum Secum, son Michael (Dalilla) Hawboldt Antigonish, 3 granddaughters; Alexis, Jaden, Winter Rose, Brothers; Gordon (Danielle), Bob (Susan) both of Quebec, sister Joan (George) Desharnais, B.C, brother-in-law Thorley, and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by brother Graham (Ida), twin sisters Shirley (Fred) Garreau and Eva Astels. Cremation has taken place under the direction of DS Crowell & Son Funeral Home. A graveside committal will be held Friday, April 22nd at 2pm in St. Matthews Anglican Cemetery, Marie Joseph. Family flowers only, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. The family would like to thank Dr. Ackermann and the nurses for their extreme kindness and compassionate care shown to Jim.
