Obituary of James Nelson
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Frederick Nelson (Jim) of Vancouver, B.C., on November 10, 2022, after a brief hospitalization, at the age of 86. Beloved husband of 57 years of Irene Nelson (Novoa). Devoted father of James William Nelson Novoa and Diana Cristina Nelson. Loving grandfather of Miguel Antonio of Lisbon, Portugal. Our dear Jim will be fondly remembered by his nieces and nephews in British Columbia and their families and by Irene’s dear relatives and friends in many countries.
He retired from the Federal Government after 36 years of service in several government departments, including the now Global Affairs Canada with postings to Costa Rica, Cuba and Argentina.
The family wishes to thank the staff at the Salvation Army Ottawa Grace Manor for their devoted care of Jim these last 3 years. In lieu of flowers, the donations in Jim’s memory may be made to the Salvation Army Ottawa Grace Manor.
A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, November 26, 2022, at 3 PM at St. Stephen’s Anglican Church at 930 Watson St. (entrance at 2821 St. Stephens St.).
