Obituary of James McIsaac
It is with great sadness that the family of the late James McIsaac announces his peaceful passing on Sunday, January 16, 2022, at Dr. Charles LeGrow Health Centre at the age of 85. Born in St.Andrew’s, James was the son of the late Alexander “Sandy” and Mary “Maggie” (nee Murray) McIsacc. James leaves to mourn with fond and precious memories his children, Anthony McIsaac, Karen (Scott) MacAllister, Keith and Wayne McIsaac, grandchildren, Tara, Mitchell, Ryan, Jonathan, Jamie, Maenwynn and Alexander, great grandchildren, Rowan and Mateo, brothers and sister-in-laws, Delphine Maloney, Julie (Bob) Carberry, Ronald (Jessie) McIsaac and Joseph (Maggie) McIsaac, large circle of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. James was predeceased by his loving wife, Mary Elizabeth (nee Bruce) McIsaac. James was a traditional musician, co-founder of the Codroy Valley Fiddlers, and one of the original organisers of the Codroy Valley Folk Festival at which he performed each year as well as playing at other festivals from Cape Breton to St. John’s. He was an active, highly resourceful man who devoted much of his time to volunteer activities, and was a founding member of the local Knights of Columbus. He will be remembered for his humour and talent, and greatly missed by all. In keeping with James’s wishes cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to charity of one’s choice. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Oceanside Funeral Home, 23 Read Street, Port aux Basques.
