Obituary of James Joseph Byrnes
James Joseph “Jimmy” Byrnes Jr. age 68 of Elmira Heights, NY formerly of Horseheads, NY passed away on Sunday February 27, 2022 at The Arnot Ogden Medical Center. Jimmy was born September 19, 1953 in Pottsville, Pennsylvania the son of the late James J. and Frances G. Smith Byrnes. He was a graduate of Horseheads High School and Corning Community College . Jimmy attended The University of Miami and Penn State University and received his Bachelor’s Degree from Arizona State University. He worked for Coca Cola in Houston, Texas and worked obtained two Master’s Degree from the University of Houston. He loved and idolized Mickey Mantle. Jimmy loved his family and friends and was a great friend to all who knew him. He always had a story and a smile that lit up the room. Jimmy is survived by sister and brother-in-law: Susan and Dr. Richard Baron of Vestal, NY ; brother: John F. Byrnes and Mai Luther of Horseheads, NY; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of caring friends and his beloved dog Clementine. It was Jimmy’s wish that there be no calling hours or services . Jimmy will be laid to rest with his parents in Schuykill Memorial Park in Schuykill Haven, PA at the convenience of the family.
