Born in Glace Bay, he was a son of the late, Hugh and Cecilia (Marsh) Aucoin.
Jim was employed for 32 years at Dofasco Steel Co, Hamilton, ON. After retirement, he and Lila moved home to Cape Breton and settled in Donkin. He was a great dad and loved with a gentle heart. Jim most enjoyed the time spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and was a good papa. His passion was horses and horseracing.
Surviving are his children, Barbara (Alan Snow) Aucoin, Donkin, Jim (Michelle), Mattawa, On and Hugh, Donkin; siblings, Barb MacIsaac, Hamilton, ON and Dan (Lynn) Aucoin, Selkirk, ON; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife Delila and ten siblings.
