Obituary of James E. Butts
James E. Butts age 50 of Alpharetta, GA formerly of Elmira Heights, NY passed away on Monday March 21, 2022 after an extended illness. Jim was born July 29, 1971 in Elmira , NY the son of Gerald D. Butts and Jeanne Voorhees Butts. He was a graduate of Thomas A. Edison High School Class of 1989. Jim worked at Top’s Grocery Store in Elmira , NY from 1987 – 2007 and was The Frontlines Manager prior to retirement. He became an insurance claims adjustor for Hartford Insurance while in Georgia. Jim was pre-deceased by his mother Jeanne A. Butts on July 14, 1998 and his brothers Gerald D Butts Jr. on March 12, 1992 and Keith Emery Butts on November 5, 2000. He loved Music and Karaoke and enjoyed being with his friends. Jim loved his family and friends and treasured the time he spent with them. Jim is survived by his father Gerald D. Butts Sr. ; sister: Cheryl Montgomery of Elmira Heights, NY ; nephew : Matthew & Nicole Montgomery ; niece: Krista & George Lisk ; 5 great nieces and grand nephews ; uncle : Arthur & Mary Butts of Elmira Heights , NY ; several cousins, his beloved cat Mercedes, and several friends including his best friend Kristin Cassidy. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the LYNCH FUNERAL HOME 318 WEST BROAD STREET HORSEHEADS, NY on Wednesday March 30, 2022 from 11 AM to 1 PM. Jim’s Funeral Services will be held at the conclusion of calling hours. Jim will be laid to rest in Maple Grove Cemetery in Horseheads, NY with his mother and brothers.
